Find People on Facebook: 6 Ways

Facebook is used by more people all over the world as the most popular social networking site on the Web today. As literally millions of people use this site every day, it’s become a great free tool to find people online. In this article, we’re going to take a look at just a few of the methods you can use to find people on Facebook, for free.

Facebook friends page

Did you know there is a  find your friends on Facebook page?  Lots of different options here: you can find people you know by email, find people you know by their last name, find people on your IM (instant messenger) list, or simply browse for people alphabetically.

Find friends of friends

You can scroll through the friends of your friends and potentially find people that you didn’t know were already on Facebook. This is a great way to find people that you might have lost contact with – like old high school classmates.

Facebook suggestions

You can use the Facebook Suggestions link as a way to find people. Here, you’ll be able to search within groups – college, workplace, and more.

Note: by default, the results you see on Facebook are from those people you already know. However, if you want to expand that circle to include results from anyone who has chosen to make their Facebook information public, click on “Posts By Everyone”. Now you can see the information from everyone who has made their data public, making it even easier to find people on Facebook.

Search profiles

There’s a page on Facebook designated for networks that people are in. On this search page, you can search by name, email, school name and graduation year, and company.

Find classmates

We’ve all looked for our former classmates on Facebook. You can search for your school, the year you graduated, even planned reunions will show up in search results. If you include your graduation year in your profile, these searches will be even more targeted.

Find work colleagues

Want to find everyone affiliated with a company? If they’ve included their company name in their public profile, and you search for that company, they will show up in search results.
