Ten Fun Websites You’ll Want To Visit

We visit websites every day that serve a specific purpose: news, gossip, financial info, health data, etc. However, there are a lot of sites out there that seem to serve no useful purpose and can simply be filed under “fun”. These are the sites that somehow have made their way onto the Internet, seemingly without any sort of useful capability, and yet – we can’t help but visit them. Is there a common denominator across these sites that make us helpless to resist their siren call? Perhaps it’s not necessarily that complicated; perhaps they are just a lighthearted escape from the daily grind.

Whatever the reason these sites exist, we can probably all agree that they serve no purpose other than to make us smile, scratch our heads in puzzlement, or simply service as a quick diversion. Find your favorite useless site in this list of the top ten strange (yet oddly compelling) websites.

Corn Dog

There’s not much to say about this site; it’s a picture of two corn dogs with catchy music and that’s it. Literally. Check out the Corn Dog On Corn Dog site.

Ducks are the Best

Ducks are the Best is an interactive site where the user simply drags their mouse around the screen and creates more and more ducks, accompanied by flashing colors and changing backgrounds. Note: this is probably not a site you want to visit if rapidly changing colors bother you in any way.

Eel Slap

If you’ve ever wanted to slap someone in the face with an eel, here’s your chance. The Eel Slap website features an image of a man who you can repeatedly slap in the face with yes, an eel. Great for getting frustration out without harming anyone.

Corgi Party

Do you like Corgis? How about dancing Corgi puppies? You’ll want to check out Corgi Party, a site that is both useless and fascinating. This site is utterly mesmerizing. Hundreds of tiny Corgi puppies are dancing on the screen to annoying music, then bigger Corgis come and start dancing across those images. You’ll find you’ve wasted twenty minutes here without even meaning to.

Find the Invisible Cow

Click around on the screen to find the Invisible Cow. You’ll want to adjust your sound accordingly for clues. Once you find a cow, you move up to other animals. Think of the classic Marco Polo game except with cows and other farm animals, and you’ll get the gist of what is going on here.

Chicken on a Raft

Click on the Chicken on a Raft site, and you’ll get a dancing chicken on a raft with a timer that tells you exactly how long you’ve been looking at this dancing chicken on a raft. You’ll also get treated to an old style pirate shanty singing about the current experience of being with a chicken on a raft.

Hypnotoad

If you’re a fan of the hit animated show Futurama, you’ll recognize the character of Hypnotoad, a toad that has mysterious hypnotic powers with psychedelic eyes and a loud, hypnotic call. More about the Hypnotoad: “Both episodes where the Niblonians are involved are excellent. Also, the Hypnotoad while a very minor player, is genius.”

Cat Bounce

Cats are nimble creatures, and you can make them “bounce” all over your screen simply by moving your mouse. Make sure you check out the “Make It Rain” option on the Cat Bounce website.

Puppy Licking Your Screen

If you want a puppy to lick your screen without having to clean it up, then this site is for you. A cute pug puppy is pictured licking your computer screen, making a bit of a mess, but thankfully yes – it’s all virtual.
